Adding the 'Local' into a history tour brings Granton Station to life for visitors.

National Grid invited members of the Cockburn Association to visit the station building at The Forthquarter in March this year and treated members to a truly local history lesson.

Railway enthusiast and local resident Kenneth Williamson was approached by National Grid to add some character to the tours by regaling his own memories of the Granton Gas Works and giving an insight into the railway routes in the area.

Kenneth's memories and expert knowledge brought to life National Grid's archive photographs and memorabilia and had visitors enthralled by the former life of this recently repaired station building in what was unanimously declared 'a delightful and informative tour'.
