Bigger and better! - Annual Festival continues to grow as local community take charge.
Another excellent Community Festival was held in The Forthquarter Park with around 4000 people attending on the day.
The sun shone once again as residents and visitors enjoyed being entertained with music and banter from Leith FM and Chaplin's Disco while taking part in a range of activities from face painting, pond dipping and bungee running.
Local Community groups were out in force as they took the opportunity to showcase their services and celebrate the excellent work undertaken in the area. From the police to the local churches and many more in-between, the established and emerging communities of North Edinburgh came together to have fun.
National Grid, the company facilitating development at The Forthquarter said "It is satisfying to support this event and watch it grow each year. Seeing so many people enjoying the open space and discovering the wealth of facilities and support on offer within their community is very encouraging".
Forth Neighbourhood Partnership Chair Cllr: Cammy Day added: " The Community Festival aims to celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of this area of North Edinburgh. But perhaps more importantly it is an opportunity to highlight the real sense of pride in what has been achieved by local individuals and groups despite the many challenges they have faced".
The organisers, all volunteers, wish to thank everyone who contributed to make the day so special. We are all now looking forward to hosting an even bigger 4th Annual Community Festival next year!
