Haymarket to Granton line postponed

The tram link from Haymarket to Granton (known as 1b) has been postponed, due to the economic climate.

In the long-term there is still a robust business case for the overall project, despite the current setback.

Meanwhile, a feasibility study for a tram line serving south-east Edinburgh will be carried out, reflecting the Council’s ambitions for the tram network to expand in the future.

This line would provide a key link to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and the burgeoning BioQuarter, improving access between homes and workplaces.
